There will be 2 Labor Day parades today
Spectators are expected to line Downtown streets today for the annual Labor Day Parade. The theme is simple: Jobs, said co-chair Becky Smith. The procession -- including 40 labor unions and about 20 community groups and bands -- doesn't begin until 11 a.m. (at Pennsylvania and North streets), but festivities start at 9 a.m. with food and music, followed by a speaking program at 10 a.m.
