The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced in a press release the implementation of an all-way stop at the intersection of U.S. 231 and State Road 234 just down the road from Southmont High School. Signage will be installed starting on or after Monday, April 13.
INDOT stated that the reason behind this change is to accommodate for the “increased traffic from the nearby culvert replacement project taking place on S.R. 47.” They noted that warning signs and rumble strips will be in place on U.S. 231 to advise local drivers of the changes coming to the area.
See a detailed map of the intersection below. The graphic was provided by INDOT.
