Linden Depot Museum set to open for 2026 season

The Linden Depot Museum is preparing to open its doors for the 2026 season. Starting Friday, April 3, visitors from across the country are invited to view its expansive collection of train memorabilia inside of an historic depot.

Some of their exhibits include a caboose, an 1837 steam locomotive, and various trinkets such as pocket watches, train signals, and an entire fully-modeled town that serves as a celebration for locomotive history.

According to their press release, they are undergoing renovations and improvements for its exhibits. Donations are still being accepted for the museum’s rehabilitation of its red No. 497 Nickel Plate Railroad caboose. Funds will go towards needed repairs and exterior repainting. Other efforts include a new smokestack for its steam locomotive, as well as an additional 90 feet of track being laid to extend its train rides.

The 6th Annual Midwest Railroad Fair is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s fair will feature a Johnny Cash tribute performer, and a unique opportunity to meet railroad executives from across the country.

The depot museum will be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. Learn more about the Linden Depot Museum by clicking or tapping here.
