SPECIAL: New Richmond fireworks celebrates 60 years of lighting the night sky

For the past 60 years, New Richmond has been one of Montgomery County’s prime destinations for a Fourth of July fireworks show. With the United States getting ready to celebrate its 250th birthday, this year’s show is expected to be one of the biggest ones ever.

WCDQ stopped by New Richmond’s Masonic Lodge No. 604 to talk with some of the organizers who make each celebration possible. Each interview can be heard below.

The 2026 New Richmond Fireworks Celebration will start at 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, for breakfast at the Masonic Lodge at 101 Wabash St. It’ll last all day at the town park until its signature fireworks show at dusk.
